Stuart & Rebecca Guild
Indonesia | C&MA Bible College
Stuart grew up in Long Island, New York and Rebecca grew up in Pittsburgh at ACAC, but both ended up at Nyack College to prepare for cross-cultural ministry. After getting married in 2016, Stuart received his master’s degree and served at an Alliance church outside of Chicago. Rebecca taught at a local autistic school during the day and adult ESL classes in the evening. During their season of training and higher education, both felt a strong call towards higher education and pastor development in Southeast Asia.
Today, Stuart and Rebecca are living out their dream of mentoring and caring for Indonesian ministry-leaders-in-training. Since 2019, they have learned the language, practiced hospitality with students and neighbors, and studied to better understand the dynamics of the Indonesian education system. Their ministries include teaching at an Indonesian Alliance Bible College (in the national language), building “redemptive relationships” with neighbors of different faith backgrounds, and supporting local pastors. They are passionate about training and mentoring young adults in their faith with the hope of expanding Gospel access across the islands of Indonesia!
In the classroom, Stuart teaches Bible and theology classes to future pastors, public school teachers, and cross-cultural workers to deepen their desire to know Christ personally and make Him known to the world! Rebecca teaches English and Anthropology with hopes of the students learning best practices in adapting to new cultural contexts as well as having fun learning English. Both enjoy the challenge of caring for young adult students from various educational, tribal, and family backgrounds.
They also mentor the students outside of the classroom and invest in relationships with neighbors of various religious backgrounds. By welcoming students into their house, they get to see what a family on mission looks like – discipleship and raising kids involved in ministry.
From July 2024 – July 2025 they are living in Pittsburgh and traveling to different churches, sharing about God’s work in Indonesia and in their family. In January 2025, they are excited to welcome their third child.
